Worried about what to make this Thanksgiving? Tired of the same old pumpkin pie?  Want to make something great, but not too difficult?  You’re bound to be thankful this Thanksgiving when you try this tasty treat!

–        2 large Granny Smith apples

–        2 10 oz. cans of crescent roll dough

–        1 cup of butter

–        1 ½ cups of white sugar

–        1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

–        12 fluid ounces of Mountain Dew

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F.
  2. Spray a 9×13 pan with cooking spray.
  3. Slice each apple into 8 pieces and remove the core.
  4. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate them into triangles.
  5. Beginning at the smallest end of the triangle, roll an apple slice into one of the triangles.  Pinch the ends of the roll to seal the apple inside. Repeat this process with all of the apple slices.
  6. Place all of the dumplings into the pre-greased pan.
  7. Melt the butter and then mix in the sugar, cinnamon, and Mountain Dew. Pour this mixture over the dumplings in the pan.
  8. Bake the dish for 35-45 minutes or until the dumplings are golden brown.
  9. Express your thanks this Thanksgiving with these delightful dumplings!

Optional:  For even more flavor, serve this dish with ice cream as you celebrate with your family this fall.
