Backlash by Sarah Littman allows insight into a teenage girl’s life.

In this book, the author informs her readers of the heartbreaking story of someone who has faced a life filled with insecurity and neglect. The main character discovers a life that no one could imagine possible.

After being bullied, the main character, Lara,  finds herself depressed and attempts suicide. After failing, Lara experiences hurt and pain, not only physically but also mentally.

The point being, bullying is a serious crime. You do not only damage relationships, but you also cause the person that is being bullied a great amount of pain.

Although you may think it is a laughing matter, I can assure you it is not.

Suicide is never the answer. If you are being bullied, you need to stand up for yourself. If you can’t, you need to separate yourself from the crowd who encourages the type of harassment that makes you uncomfortable.

Being a part of a crowd allows popularity to flourish in your life and the lives of others, but if you are in a situation that is not suitable for your life, you need to find new people that will allow you to be yourself and who will encourage you to do what’s right.
