After yet another entertaining MLB Playoffs, the World Series is upon us. The Boston Red Sox face off against the Los Angeles Dodgers for the right to the Commissioner’s Trophy. The Red Sox, behind their high powered offense with stellar starting pitching, make their first World Series since 2013. The Dodgers, winning their second straight pennant look to redeem themselves after last year’s game 7 loss to the Astros.
The Red Sox enter the series as the favorites to take home the title, winning 108 games during the regular season which was good enough for first in the AL East. The Dodgers finished with a regular season record of 92-71 winning the NL West by one game. Both clubs have huge, high powered offenses with Mookie Betts, J.D Martinez, and Andrew Benintendi for Boston and Justin Turner, Manny Machado, and Yasiel Puig for L.A.
What sets the Red Sox apart is their pitching, Chris Sale, Davis Price and Rick Porcello all former CY Young award winner and a monster bullpen with behind Craig Kimbrel. When you compare the pitching, Dodgers just don’t keep up with Boston and that’s why I think the Red Sox win the series in 6 games.
