Stars Pre-Season

Stars Pre-Season

With just eleven days until puck drop, the Stars are scrambling to find a team dynamic that will allow them to thrive. The draft proved uneventful for the team, as they only picked up a few NHL players, including former LA Kings goalie Ben Bishop. Most of the players, however, were brought up from the Texas Stars, Dallas’ minor league.

Much of the team’s defense remains unchanging. Players like Klingberg, Honka, and Lindell hold down the back with contracts extending several years further. In terms of the front line, power players Tyler Seguin and team captain Jamie Benn hope to continue their goal scoring streak.

Outside of the regular season, several pre-games have commenced, unofficially marking the hockey season. The first game against the Blues proved that they may have a fighting chance, contrasting to their last season in which they finished lower in the standings. The fans filled with hope seeing them kick off the pre-season with a win, which ended quickly with a tough loss to the Avalanche. The 5 to 1 score was especially tough, seeing as Colorado was last in the major leagues.

Moving into the regular season, the Stars need to find the chemistry and that means the right shifts; with most of the defense remaining the same, an anticipatory stadium of fans should be expecting the same results as last year. In terms of offense, they will need to step it up in order to achieve their maximum potential.
