Dallas Stars are inconsistent

The Dallas Stars again are inconsistent. To be completely honest, the only thing they have been consistent at is being inconsistent. With only a couple games played in the last few weeks, it has been difficult for them to keep their momentum going. Some of the players that were expected to perform well, did not. Players like Klingberg, Spezza and Seguin all have put in minimal effort to help the game for the past few weeks. Klinger giving up near three goals, Spezza missing the game winning shot during a shoot-out and Seguin with low scoring and playmaking. Another critical problem is the amount of injuries: Jamie Benn playing with a broken nose, Oleksiak out for a few more weeks on a lower body injury and Radek Faksa out for several more games because of upper body.

However, it is looking up for the Stars in terms of overtime. They did manage to hold out the Sabres for the full five minutes resulting in a shoot-out. There is a double standard when it comes to a shoot-out, even though they managed to keep the puck out of their net for the full five minutes, it wasn’t anywhere near the Sabres’ net. So, while they were able to figure out a defensive shift, the offense is once again ineffective. The Stars are still trying to figure out a balance in terms of what players should be on the ice. Once they get it, the team will be extremely successful.
