Halftime for College Football

Ladies and Gentlemen, college football is almost halfway through the season. In the Big 12 conference, Baylor has taken first place, in second place is Oklahoma State, third place is TCU, fourth place is Oklahoma, and in fifth place is Texas Tech. Disclaimer, I will try my best to be impartial to the football teams, but I must warn you, I am a Boomer Sooner fan. Currently Baylor is in first place with the major help of their defensive lineman Shawn Oakman, who has become one of the most notable players in college football. This weekend they will be playing Iowa State at 11 am on ESPN. The Oklahoma State Cowboys will be playing Kansas on Saturday at 2:30pm, which will be in the cowboys favor especially with their powerful defense. TCU will not be playing this weekend but on Thursday at 6:30pm. I am looking forward to the TCU Baylor game, which will definitely be interesting. However this game isn’t until November 27 at 6:30pm. Now for the amazing Boomer Sooners who will be playing against Texas Tech this weekend at 2:30pm. I am very hype for this particular football game, it will be a game that will make you want to remain standing on your feet even during half time. OU is only one spot ahead of Texas Tech, so this game will determine who will be the higher ranked team. On top of these pressures, the Oklahoma starting quarterback, Baker Mayfield,  used to play for Texas Tech, but he transferred to OU this season due to a disagreement with the Texas Tech coach. There will definitely be some tensions, because Mayfield will be playing against his old teammates and they will know each other’s weaknesses. All I can say is enjoy college football season while it lasts because before you know it you will have to wait six months until fall again. So savor the aroma of popcorn in the air, the annoying fan behind you who yells at the ref for every call, and the the half singing half shouting to school chants. So take it all in.
