Everyone knows that the holiday season is full of cold air, family time, and lots of food. During the holiday season the average person gains between 7-10 pounds. Due to all the delicious food, it being cold outside so people don’t want to go work out, and family being in town so people don’t want to take time away from that to exercise. So here are some things you can do differently during this holiday season so you won’t regret your decisions leading into next summer.

FIRST:  indoor around the house exercises

  • Run up stairs
  • P90x videos
  • Dancing
  • High knees
  • Squats
  • Crunches
  • Plank up downs
  • Tuck jumps

SECOND:  diet ideas

  • Make portions don’t eat out of the bag or bowl
  • Cut back on sugar
  • Cut out soda
  • Drink lots of water
  • Do whole grains instead of whites
  • Chew slowly ( so you get full faster)

* fun fact= it takes 10 minutes for your brain to tell your stomach you are full

THIRD: family activities

  • Bike ride
  • Go shopping
  • Ice skating
  • Laser tag
  • Snowball fight
  • Sledding
