Spooky Snacks
October 26, 2016
It’s October, which means it’s basically Halloween, folks. Texas may still think it’s summer, but I (and I’m sure many of you) are ready for cool weather and orange leaves. So without further ado, here are some fun Halloween snacks to get you prepared for all the Halloween hype. It’s about to get spooky…
Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats
Ingredients: 6 cups rice Krispie cereal, 3 tablespoons butter, 1 bag of marshmallows, orange food coloring, and tootsie rolls
Steps:
- Melt butter.
- Add marshmallows (with pan still over heat) and stir until melted.
- You can now remove the pan from heat. Add food coloring.
- Mix in the Rice Krispie cereal
- Shape the mixture into small balls
- Use half of a Tootsie Roll to add a stem to each “pumpkin.”
Witches’ Brooms
(For all of you out there who have absolutely no cooking skills, this one’s for you.)
Ingredients: Pretzel sticks, mini Reese’s cups
Steps:
- Simply stick the pretzel sticks into the smaller bottom side of the Reese’s cup!
Apple Teeth
Ingredients: Apple slices (or just whole apples, if you can’t find slices), peanut butter, mini marshmallows
Steps:
- If you have whole apples, cut them into slices.
- Taking 2 slices, spread peanut butter onto the side of each apple slice.
- Stick a row of marshmallows into the peanut butter across one apple slice.
- Stick the other apple slice on so that the marshmallows are sandwiched between the two apples.
