Marvel Studios has seemingly taken over the world with their movie empire spanning over 10 years, 20 movies and counting, 10 franchises, and billions and billions of dollars.

Starting all the way back in 2008 with the first Iron Man, fans have been hanging on the edge with every new installment, building slowly toward the movie of the decade, Avengers: Infinity War, which hit theaters in March 2018. It is currently ranked number four of all time in opening weekend revenues at over  $2 billion and achieved the most viewed premier trailer in the first 24 hours with over 230 million views in the first day.

But now all eyes turn toward what seems to be the new movie of the decade, Avengers: Endgame, which is set to come out April 26.

We now little to nothing about this blockbuster, despite one trailer and a Super Bowl TV spot we only know as much the the title. Its premier trailer broke the record that its predecessor set with over 289 million views in the first 24 hours.

Just when you thought Marvel outdid themselves with Infinity War, and nothing could beat the anticipation, the hype, and talk around that movie, they do this. They break their own trailer’s view record, they plan to make more money in the opening weekend, and the hype keeps growing and growing with every trailer, TV spot, article, or rumor that hits.

Though it’s just a movie franchise with fictional characters, the MCU has become part of people’s lives. Fans waiting over 10 years for one two- to three-hour movie despite other movies coming in between was unheard of before Marvel came along with a crazy idea to create cohesive universe out of different movies and franchises.

Marvel shows no signs of slowing down even after Avengers: Endgame ends the MCU as we know it. New characters and storylines promise to make the next ten years just as good that the last.
