As the school year comes to a close, many of us reflect on the year we have had. Instead of writing a piece about all the great things Keller High has accomplished, I thought I’d create a throwback playlist of great songs from the past to help everyone get through the final couple weeks of school. This way we can finish the year strong and continue to create a lasting legacy.

These songs are my favorite from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. I included a mix of slow and fast songs, so everyone has a type of song that they can listen to while doing homework. Hope you enjoy!

  1. “Brandy (You’re A Fine Girl)”- Looking Glass
  2. “Wham Bang Shang-A-Lang”- Silver
  3. “The Chain”- FLeetwood Mac
  4. “Come And Get Your Love”- Redbone
  5. “Jolene”- Dolly Parton
  6. “Whip It”- DEVO
  7. “Shangri-La”- The Kinks
  8. “Summer Breeze”- Seals and Crofts
  9. “The Rubberband Man”- The Spinners
  10. “American Pie”- Don McLean
  11. “Paint It, Black”- The Rolling Stones
  12. “My Sweet Lord”- George Harrison
  13. “Juke Box Hero” Foreigner
  14. “Stairway to Heaven”- Led Zeppelin
  15. “Immigrant Song”- Led Zeppelin
  16. “I Get Around”- The Beach Boys
  17. “Carry On Wayward Son”- Kansas

Hopefully some of these songs can inspire you to continue studying for finals and AP testing! Summer is around the corner, so don’t give up now! Stay strong and be consistent with your studying until school is over and you should be fine.

Maggie Coleman, Staff Writer

Hi! I’m Maggie Coleman, and this is my third year on the Wigwam staff. My favorite color is blue, and my favorite food is mac and cheese. I’m a senior, and verbally committed to play softball at Hardin-Simmons University this year! When I’m not on the field, I’m probably binge-watching Netflix (preferably The Office) or listening to Ed Sheeran. I’m also a huge fan of books, which is what prompted me to begin writing stories, and join the Wigwam. This will be my last year on staff, and hope to make the most of it!
