Movie Review: Black Panther

Celeste Bleeker, Staff Writer

After the death of his father, T’Challa returns home to the African nation of Wakanda to take his rightful place as king. When a powerful enemy suddenly reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king — and as Black Panther — gets tested when he’s drawn into a conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people (“Every Record Black Panther Has Matched or Shattered”).

This movie exceeded all my expectations. From the beautiful quality to the flowing, interesting plotline, this movie had me hooked. There was a good mixture of action and emotion, mixed with plenty of good humor. I wanted to step right into Wakanda and stay there forever. There was a good plot twist that I did not see coming (although I’m sure others could spot it from a mile away…thanks anonymous friend). Also present was a sense of how powerful women are and the respect the men show to the women warriors, who are the fiercest and best by far.

I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who likes good action movies.
