Star Wars: The Last Jedi Review

Evan Starr, Staff Writer

The Last Jedi finally hit theatres a few weeks ago and I personally couldn’t have been more hyped. I was there the very night it was released ready to be blown away. And honestly I was!

Thought the review on this movie are very mixed with some people saying it was too different of a Star Wars movie, I absolutely love it. Is it a very different Star Wars movie compared to the others? Yes, it is, and that is what makes it so great. The movie is intense, funny, a whole lot of fun, and filled with stand up and clap moments. Rian Johnson dared to  put his own voice in the Star Wars saga and I honor him for it. He took chances which in my opinion all paid off in the end.

This movie is a rollercoaster; it takes all sorts of twists and turns that caught me off guard most of the time. The action was heart pounding, John Williams yet again delivers a great Star Wars score (like there was ever any doubt) and yet again Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Oscar Isaac in particular nailed their roles to perfection. Now, was it a perfect movie? No, not necessarily but most of the problems are so small they didn’t ruin the movie in the slightest for me.

I loved this movie; I liked the fact that it was different. One major critique for Episode 7 was that it was too similar to Episode 4. So how are you going to critique Episode 8 for being too different? Change is a good thing and so was this movie.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi gets and A+. And anyone who want to challenge me on that COME AT ME.
