Ed Sheeran’s Upcoming Album

Natalie Hornbaker, Staff Writer

After disappearing for a year to take a break from social media and focus on writing new music, Ed Sheeran is back and even better! Ed’s new album ÷, also known as Divide, is almost here and will be released March 3, 2017.

The singer returned with a series of mysterious teasers leading to the reveal of his new songs, including snippets that provided clues to the new songs. Reflecting on his first few days back in the spotlight, Sheeren commented, “First off what a week! The reaction to my new singles has been absolutely mindblowing and I can’t thank you enough. My new album ÷ holds a very special place in my heart and I really believe this is my best work to date. I’ve been eager to get back and I couldn’t be more excited for March 3.”

Sheeren released the first new songs from Divide at 5 a.m. on January 6, “Shape of You” and “Castle on the Hill”. Along with these songs, Sheeren took to Twitter to provide the album’s 12-song track list. The name of his forthcoming album follows the symbol themes of his previous albums, 2014’s x and 2011’s +. Waiting for March 3 for Sheeren’s album to be released will be hard but extremely worth it!
