‘Tis the season to be jolly my friends because in less than the time it takes you to muster up the courage to finally drop out and pursue your career in serving gourmet cheeseburgers, we will be met with the sweet sweet feeling of freedom that comes wrapped in a nice little bow for our winter break. That’s right my fellow inmates, that means we will be released from this ‘due by 11:59 pm on turnitin.com’ prison – free to binge watch all those movies and TV shows without an overbearing weight of priorities piling up as each episode flips by.

I won’t dare mention the ‘m’ word because I know how triggering it can be for those who have lost it along these past few weeks (oh God, motivation *shudders*); however, I will mention that with this break, comes a great responsibility (oops, another trigger word) which means it is absolutely mandatory that we carry on forward and pay homage to ALL the great movies and tv shows offered to us.

With this rare opportunity it is your duty to cherish this time, get cozy with the popcorn, and catch up with your loved ones (Ryan Gosling, I’m talking about you honey). Don’t worry my assignment-weary darlings, I did all the hard work for you. Here is a list of long-lost relatives – some new ones too – that deserve a little extra attention over this break:

  • Stranger Things
  • Gilmore Girls (don’t forget Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life)
  • Jane the Virgin
  • Stuck in Love
  • How I Met Your Mother
  • How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days
  • How to Get Away with Murder
  • White Chicks
  • Love Actually
  • Parks and Recreation
  • Grey’s Anatomy
  • In Your Eyes
  • Ghost Town
  • New Girl
  • The Holiday
