Good music is everywhere, but how will we ever find it all? It’s near impossible, so here is a list of some of the most underrated songs. Most feature indie or alternative sounds.

1.”Into the Wild”- Lewis Watson- One of my personal favorites. It’s a sweet song, about how a girl relates to nature. The artist claims that their relationship is like the wild. The song could totally be used in a cute coming of age movie. The song showcases a melancholic tone, that could be the definition of indie.

  1. “The Grand Optimist”- City and Colour- I actually found this song a few months ago, and I haven’t stopped replaying it since. The song describes the relationship and characterization of both of his parents. He claims that his father was “always looking on the bright side” meaning that he is “The Grand Optimist.” The artist then goes to to say that he “takes after his mother.” Meaning both the artist and his mother are more pessimistic. Either way, the simple guitar and just his voice are about all you need to enjoy the song.

  1. “Crowbar Hotel”- Chadwick Stokes- Up until about last week I had never heard the song, nor the artist. This is more of an upbeat song for anyone that loves to dance around their room. It has a relatively indie sound, with some alternative rock. The chorus then picks up, and the song only continues to get better.

  1. “Dear Doubt”- Michael Schulte- Even though the song only came out a few years ago, I hadn’t heard it until recently. The song is all in the title. The artist conveys his feelings towards doubt and how it had held him back in the past, however he had decided to let it go and now feels free. He says that the only way to get over the doubt is to “run.” The song starts out dark but by the end, it really picks up.

  1. “Don’t You Cry For Me”- Cobi- The song is fairly recent, and it gives off Hozier vibes, however it is something completely different. The song talks about struggling and overcoming hardships, to rise above everything, including negativity. The song features outstanding vocals accompanied with piano and guitar.
