Monday. We’ve all suffered through this despicable day. We’ve all experienced that dread and desperation as the last day of the weekend begins to diminish. We’ve all gone kicking and screaming, grasping onto the oh so sweet moments of the two days we get the chance to morph into the couch and avoid our priorities as another episode of Stranger Things comes on. Unfortunately, as budding young adults, we don’t exactly get the privilege of throwing a tantrum when we don’t have the desire to do something. No worries my fellow Monday-despisers, out of the hatred of my heart, I have concocted a music playlist to get you through the pains of your overbearing priorities and the inevitably atrocious Monday.

  1. Should I Stay or Should I Go – Remastered by The Clash: As you mourn the time that will soon be wasted spent actually getting things done rather than watching Stranger Things, I thought it would be a nice tribute to the show as you contemplate whether or not you should stay in bed or go and face the ever so daunting Monday ahead.
  1. Keep Your Head Up by Andy Grammer: At this point, you’ve somehow mastered getting yourself out of your fuzzy bunny pajamas and I personally am very proud of you. No, no, don’t you dare go back to your warm and comforting bed. Wipe your tears and keep your head up.
  1. Mama Said by Lukas Graham: This inspirational, schoolyard-esque tune is great for motivating you to refrain from succumbing to the comfort of your own bed. If you don’t listen to me or my play on words, at least listen to what your mama said (don’t do drugs, stay in school, stop sobbing because you can’t watch Stranger Things, the whole maternal works).
  1. Best Day of My Life by American Authors: I know, I know. Monday’s are certainly not the best day of our lives but this song at least inspires us to try. Make the best of this day and just think of all the Stranger Things episodes you can binge watch for the fifth time again when the day is over.
  1. Lush Life by Zara Larsson: Again, it’s Monday. There’s nothing ‘lush’ about it. however, this obnoxiously upbeat pop jam will surely get you kicked out of your pity party. You’re welcome.
  1. Something’s Got A Hold On Me by Etta James: The Monday Blues still have a hold on you but this all time classic is a necessity when you’re down in the First Day of the Week Dumps.
  1. Eye of the Tiger by Survivor: Alright, you’re almost there. You’re nearing the light at the end of this dark day’s tunnel. The smell of Eggo waffles and telekinetic powers is near. Your Monday is almost done. Listen to this all-time Survivor song and get pumped.
  1. CAN’T STOP THE FEELING! by Justin Timberlake: Be as excited as the title of this song! Let Timberlake’s falsetto soak deep into your bones and don’t stop that feeling! The day is coming to an end!
  1. The Greatest by Sia ft. Kendrick Lamar: This powerful ballad by Sia gives you that one last oomph you need to get you to the finish line. You are the greatest and I commend you for making it this far without a single tear. You can cry right now if you want though, this song gets me everytime.
  1. Geronimo by Sheppard: YOU MADE IT! You survived yet another Monday! Finish it out with this gung-ho tune and thank the directors of Stranger Things for motivating you to make it through this day. Also, thank me. I don’t think you would have survived this day without this playlist. You are so very welcome.

For your convenience (I’m an angel, I know), I accumulated all of these songs in order in a playlist – just click the link and enjoy.
