“Wild” starring: Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern and Michiel Huisman.

‘Wild’ is about a girl named Cheryl Strayed who decided to hike the Pacific Crest trail [which took over 90 days] to get away from and forget her haunted and dramatic past.

Along the way she struggles with many conflicts such as running out of water, food, nearly freezing to death and coming face to face with creatures that lerk in the deserts.

Cheryl begins her journey from South California and walks all the way up through Oregon and Washington. She gets to see beautiful sights and learn a lot from being by herself; with very little company from people she comes across during her hike.

By the end of this movie, Cheryl begins to see the positive sides of things. The beauty in life.

She learns that no matter how dark things may seem, there will always be light.

“Alone had always felt like an actual place to me, as if it weren’t a state of being, but rather a room where I could retreat to be who I really was.” -Cheryl Strayed, Wild.

This movie was absolutely beautiful in so many ways. Although it was very dark at times with the flashbacks of her past, you learn about her and the hardships she faced. It was almost as if I grew along with her. This movie made me want to pack a bag and see the world.
