The fresh new store designed for skaters, The General Store, had its grand opening on Saturday. It’s the perfect place to customize your own skateboard, by choosing from a variety of colorful boards and wheels. It also sells graphic tees, with designs focused around Keller,  and other cool skating apparel.

Jared Dethmyer ,the owner of the store, is very excited that his store, centered around the skater lifestyle, is finally becoming a reality. Him and his friends have had the dream of owning a store like this for years, and now that the perfect location has opened up, the pieces are finally falling into place. In only a few days, Dethmeyer has turned the empty space into a relaxed hang-out zone for all skaters.

The store couldn’t have opened at a better time, since the new skate park in Roanoke, at 215 Church Ave, is almost open and ready. You could create a new board or polish up your old one at The General Store, and then head down to the Roanoke skate park to practice out new tricks and stunts.

So if you’re interested in checking out skater heaven, drop by The General Store at 136 South Main Street.
