Most people would have their reservations about going to see a show about a spelling bee, but those people would be, what I like to call, stupid. Used in a sentence: That idiot who didn’t like The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee by Indian Theater is stupid.

The play deals with many of the awkward situations that naturally occur when social outcasts come together. This musical will make you laugh and it will make you cry (but only because you are laughing so hard).

The competitors range from socially inept to just plain wacky. Other contestants are drawn from the audience to be in the spelling bee, where they are given words and are allowed to compete against the characters. From the sensitive Olive who deals with parental problems to the developing boy Chip to the young political and social activist Logainne, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will make you laugh from A to Z.
